29 With Extra Sauce

We started the championship with an error in center that damn neared rolled to the fence and costed two runs. We got one back fairly quickly, then gave another run up.  The rest of the night proceeded 3-1, the entire team kicking horribly, committing...well, I lost count at four errors but we had more.  The game was basically wrapped up.  So bottom of the seventh, end of game, our lead off somehow takes a walk, even though he should have struck out twice. Unbelievable. Then we finally get a decent hit. Then another.  And a throwing error while Zach is sprinting home is wildly off target so we tie the game. It was weird as hell. All we had to do was collect our last three out and end this miserable game we just played and go home losers for the year. Although here we were, headed to overtime for some strange reason. They started the opposing team with a runner on second, but we held. Then we got up and immediately moved our guy to third. Crotty came to the plate and just needed a sacrifice fly to the outfield to win it.  He laced it to right center for a hit and the game winner.  #29 was unexpected.  It was only the second seasonal championship of the year.  So The Jorts ended up 2 for 4 for the year. Not terrible for year 15. Most of us are old. Serious old.

Also, at the end of October, we won our second tournament.  I guess it was the first one HeyDay put on? I dunno, who cares.

28 is great

Number 28 is in the books with both sides having players missing all over the place.  Final score I believe was 4-2. Meg returned for the first time in a long time, Nicole snagged another pinch-sub medal, and Al decided to play for us instead of his double dipping team, as to not get murdered in his sleep.  I was grateful as I didn't have to play third.  If Al would have played for the other team, that would have been...

some real Hahn shit right there...or so the saying goes.

Gabon the Mighty

April 18

Gabon decided to haunt the diamond tonight and accompany himself with his known bottle of spirits at first base for whomever gets a hit.  A head also made an appearance.  And the shame bells.
